Heavy Archieven - Pagina 4 van 7 - Hit The City

High Vis

Since 2018, High Vis has polished their progressive hardcore sound with shades of post-punk, Britpop, neo-psychedelia, and even Madchester groove, mapping a middle ground between hooks and fury, melodies and mosh pits. From swaggering street punk to jangling indie sneer to heavy alt to shoegazey spoken word, the group’s chemistry transmutes any style to their unique intensity.

VALS ALARM

With their genre-blurring songwriting and pure chaos on stage, VALS ALARM tears up the rulebook. The Dutch band is a riot of energy, catharsis and joyful disorder, which leaves you breathless and wanting more. On their collaboration with BUBU (Boaz from Goldband) you hear country influences clashing with synths and noise which sounds like nothing else in today’s scene, but is unmistakably theirs.

PISS

Get ready for PISS; Vancouver’s boundary-shattering 4-piece punk powerhouse! Music, poetry, performance, and visual art collide in a riotous exploration of the personal and political. Drawing from philosophers, filmmakers, activists, children, and even German anarcho-feminist militants, PISS crafts punk that defies genre, confronts gender-based violence, and challenges societal norms. Without compromise, romanticization, or dogma. Expect relentless energy, thought-provoking chaos, and a vision of a safer, more daring underground. They’re amplifying voices, breaking rules, and turning the stage into a revolutionary canvas.

Lintworm

Lintworm arrive like a glitter-covered wrecking ball. Dealing in cheerful violence and colourful darkness, this Belgian quartet twists grindcore, powerviolence, noise and other invasive sounds into a frantic, all-consuming assault. Deliberately excessive and proudly allergic to subtlety. Behind the sonic abuse stand Belgium’s nicest boys, armed with hearts full of peace and love and a curious fascination for the absurd and uncomfortable. Lintworm thrive on contrast: cute and grotesque, playful and hostile, ridiculous yet genuinely intense. Their sound doesn’t creep in politely. It infects, overwhelms, and leaves everything louder, uglier, and strangely more alive. Extreme heavy music at its most unhinged, invasive and weirdly attractive.

ten56.

Fusing raw aggression, a crushing production and an outstanding stage presence, ten56. had cemented itself as a prominent force in the music industry. Bringing their uncompromising aesthetic, low-tuned guitars, crashing breakdowns and experimental samples, the band stands for a new sound at the interface of tech and extreme metal.

Frozemode

Frozemode sits at the forefront of the explosive global rock-meets-rap movement. Drawing energy from icons like The Prodigy and Rage Against The Machine to the cutting-edge sounds of Skepta and Playboi Carti, London trio I.V.GATLIN, Lisong, and Cho-Hollo bring a bold, distinctive style and sound to every performance. Dive into the sonic storm that’s igniting the alternative scene and introducing audiences to rap in ways they’ve never experienced before.

Grote Geelstaart

Grote Geelstaart, the psychedelic noise-rock outfit from Zeeland, throws the audience into a runaway vehicle powered by pounding bass and two drummers. But just when you think you’ve got the ride figured out, the wheel jerks left. Noise-rock melts into a twisted disco beat, drummers become guitarists, and robotic voices bounce off rectangular synths. Dressed in white shirts and ties, this band steers a wild, genre-bending trip filled with punk, funk, and absurdity. With every turn, they surprise, confuse, and delight. No one knows the destination but one thing's certain: Grote Geelstaart is impossible to forget.

Violent Magic Orchestra

Violent Magic Orchestra (VMO) is the ultimate extreme visual art music project where techno, black metal, industrial, and noise converge into a blinding spectacle of sound and light. Imagine black metal meets Kraftwerk, or a blackened Aphex Twin, VMO is both and beyond. Known for their ferocious energy and staggering power consumption VMO delivers an electrifying audiovisual experience like no other. Their past collaborators include members of The Body, Sunn O))) and Mayhem, with releases on labels like Deathwish’s Throatruiner and Never Sleep (Gabber Eleganza). From Berghain to Roadburn, DARK Mofo to CTM, and now Hit The City. Brace yourself as the doors of the DEATH RAVE swing open

EDLP

Born out of a shared love for midwest emo, punk and whining about your emotions, EDLP came together. With catchy guitar riffs and honest lyrics, they mold all the clichés into something uniquely their own. Their sound invites you to scream, cry, and lose yourself in the moshpit. Crying in the moshpit is absolutely allowed. Catch EDLP live at Hit The City and let their raw energy and heartfelt tunes take you on a wild ride through the beautiful chaos of youthful angst.

Torn From Oblivion

Torn From Oblivion is storming Hit The City with a brutal fusion of hardcore aggression and deathcore complexity. This young deathcore band of five unleashes relentless breakdowns and savage verses that tear through the scene. Influenced by the raw energy of hardcore and the crushing heaviness of deathcore, they’re here to shake up the metal world like never before. When Torn From Oblivion hits the stag they ignite a frenzy. Brace yourself, because Torn From Oblivion starts chaos.
