Effenaar Grote Zaal Archieven - Hit The City

Def

Influenced by the artists he grew up with, Dutch artist Def has developed his own nostalgic hip-hop style: honest, raw, and not afraid to add a vulgar edge. His unique sound ensures that he regularly dominates the trending pages of TikTok and Instagram. With his latest hit ‘Bad Bitches’, he is currently conquering the TikTok scene and showing that this is just the beginning.

Lambrini Girls

This trio from Brighton leaves no performance unnoticed. With their cocktail of punk, pop, and indie, they tear up every stage. Their lyrics are full of social and political commentary and feminist rage, with which they are all too happy to flip the middle finger at society. Unprocessed traumas and influences from Le Tigre and The Spice Girls are clearly audible in the songs of this queer trio. Armed with a guitar, bass, and drums, Lambrini Girls are ready to conquer the world.

Jools

Unpredictable, explosive and emotionally raw, Jools don’t mourn the past, they celebrate survival. Rising from the UK underground in 2023, they have become one of the country’s most vital new punk collectives, earning praise from BBC Radio 1 and tastemakers like Kerrang! and DIY. Their debut album Violent Delights begins and ends with the same defiant mantra: “These violent delights have violent ends”. A statement of identity, autonomy and intent. Co-vocalists Kate Price and Mitch Gordon trade between harmony and confrontation, beauty and brutality, over a sound that fuses punk attitude with flashes of metal, rap and post-hardcore.

DEADLETTER

Born in Yorkshire and forged through friendship, DEADLETTER crashes into Hit The City with unstoppable momentum. What started in 2020 as a tight bond between Zac Lawrence, Alfie Husband, and George Ullyott has evolved into a fierce six-piece powerhouse. Drawing on the sharp pulse of LCD Soundsystem, the edge of The Stranglers, and the wild spirit of Captain Beefheart, they twist lyrical mazes around explosive alt-rock grooves. After their acclaimed debut Hysterical Strength earned four stars from NME, the band now surges forward with their electrifying second album, Existence Is Bliss. Dark, danceable, irresistible. DEADLETTER are one of the UK’s most thrilling new forces.

High Vis

Since 2018, High Vis has polished their progressive hardcore sound with shades of post-punk, Britpop, neo-psychedelia, and even Madchester groove, mapping a middle ground between hooks and fury, melodies and mosh pits. From swaggering street punk to jangling indie sneer to heavy alt to shoegazey spoken word, the group’s chemistry transmutes any style to their unique intensity.

VALS ALARM

With their genre-blurring songwriting and pure chaos on stage, VALS ALARM tears up the rulebook. The Dutch band is a riot of energy, catharsis and joyful disorder, which leaves you breathless and wanting more. On their collaboration with BUBU (Boaz from Goldband) you hear country influences clashing with synths and noise which sounds like nothing else in today’s scene, but is unmistakably theirs.

jet van der steen

Jet is no ‘slick pop star’. She comes across as someone who could be your girl next door, but one with a razor-sharp pen, a big heart, and a middle finger in her back pocket for anyone who underestimates her. She radiates something rebellious, authentic, and empathetic all at the same time. Her sound has developed strongly in recent years, mixing electronics with her distinctive pop sound.

Jesse Hoefnagels

Jesse Hoefnagels proves why he’s one of the Netherlands’ most dynamic rising talents. Seamlessly blending music, video production and content creation, Jesse first captivated audiences through his headline-making YouTube series before carving out a powerful path as an artist. After a string of successful releases, Jesse continues to evolve his sound. His 2025 EP Wakker in het donker marks a bold new chapter: rawer, more honest and more personal than ever. Across five tracks — including Verlangen with Gotu Jim, Laten and Laatste nacht. He explores the space between alternative pop and melancholic club music, taking his first confident steps into a fresh, electronic-driven sound made to be experienced live. 2026 marks the year his music truly comes alive on stage.

Croíthe

Known for their dark, atmospheric sound and intense live performances, these Dublin-based indie postpunkers bring moody guitars, driving basslines and raw vocals. Highly recommended for fans of Joy Division, The Murder Capital, and The Stone Roses.

Jack Shore

Mixing nostalgic electronic influences with personal feelings that inspired his journey, Jack Shore found an unique method of performing with synthesizers and loopers. Creating music on the spot while reading the audience in real-time, he already left a big impression on us with his JACK IN THE MIDDLE TOUR.
