Ɣazal

Ɣazal came to life from a series of musical sketches by Michiel, upon which Fred responded rhythmically and added groove. Prisca’s poetic lyrics and melodic vocal lines reinforced and deepened the songs into a soundscape. Saxophonist Matti Willems joined in and added another fluid voice to the expansive musical universe of Ɣazal. The result: elements of ambient, dub, jazz, and electronica. Songs that unfold and float between retro and neo-soul. Poetry and rhythm with analog effects in the atmosphere of 90s Bristol. Think Massive Attack combined with Burial and Makaya McCraven.
