Bob and Sharon found each other in Altstadt through a shared love for everything the dance floor has to offer: from heavy basslines to sleazy dance tracks, catchy pop hooks to universal heartbreakers, and the latest discoveries to iconic guitar riffs. Rising from the isolated peninsula of Zeeland at the southwestern point of the Netherlands, Dutch youngsters Jamie Versprille (vocals), Marvin Wesdorp (guitar), Midas Giele (guitar), Lucas Camonier (bass) and Neill Ray (drums) - are a groove-hardcore band battering down the doors of the underground circuit and carving their name into every stage they touch. The high school friends dropped their debut album ‘No Regrets’ in 2025 and prove that hardcore runs through their DNA.
Ellur
Yorkshire artist Ellur brings soaring indie guitar songs about growing up and acceptance to Hit The City. The Halifax songwriter is a natural storyteller, with every word counting, inviting listeners deeper into her world. Her new EP, produced by Joel Johnston (FAR CASPIAN), features singles ‘God Help Me Now’ and ‘Yellow Light’ (BBC Radio 1 Track of the Week), blending influences like Sharon Van Etten, Sam Fender and Dora Jar. ALTERITY by Jacco Gardner
Multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and media archaeologist Jacco Gardner has been connecting music, technology, and visual art since his HKU education (2007–2011). Gardner's artistic practice is characterized by his collection of rare synthesizers, light machines, and historical electronic instruments with unique technology. His technical expertise with analog synthesizers, legacy studio hardware, and MAX/MSP reflects his ongoing interest in the dialogue between human creativity and technological innovation. He is currently undertaking a doctoral research path into the spirit of that early digital era and the role of AI in creative practice, of which ALTERITY is a central artistic output.
With ALTERITY he excavates a forgotten moment in the history of human-machine collaboration. The piece's narration, written and researched by art historian María Pandiello, traces humanity's recurring desire to build thinking companions; against it, sound, light, and image are synthesized live, each element responsive to the others, in a format closer to improvisation against a silent film, except the film is audio narration and the improvised response is audiovisual.
