Mayorga

Mayorga, led by half-Chilean guitarist Helena Mayorga Paredes, delivers a blend of melancholic lo-fi indie pop and raw guitar-driven songs. Her musical journey began at the age of three, but she truly found her creative freedom in songwriting after graduating from the Conservatory in Ghent, becoming Belgium’s first female guitarist in this genre. Mayorga’s songs come to life in her bedroom or while on the move. She embodies the #DIY spirit, playing multiple instruments and handling distorted vocals. Influenced by artists like Courtney Barnett and PJ Harvey, her track “Girlcrush” celebrates unexpected encounters and enduring friendships, with the artwork reflecting its dual meaning.
